Description
Miss Vega (3317) is an impeccably well-kept example of the brilliant Albin Vega's we all love. She was owned for many years by Ray and Anne Steele. As the technical officer for the UK Vega Association, Ray ensured that Miss Vega was maintained in exemplary condition, a standard I can only hope to uphold. His superb workmanship is evident throughout the boat, and I am forever grateful to the Steeles for passing on such a finely maintained and seaworthy example of the Vega to me.
During my ownership, I have upgraded her hardware to facilitate safer and easier single-handed sailing. Confident in the knowledge that the mighty Albin Vega will keep me safe long after I falter, I continue to cherish this remarkable vessel.
I hope to one day add Miss Vega's name to the list of those Vega's that have made remarkable voyages. For now, I will continue to sail her around the English Channel, both solo and with friends.
I often say that Miss Vega looks in better condition after a day’s sailing than she ever does sitting in the marina. With that in mind, I aim to keep her sailing for many years to come.
